The 3 Stuiver postal markings of the Netherlands are among the earliest of all postmarks and the first to indicate not only the origin and destination of a letter, but also the amount of postage to be collected from the addressee. A detailed classification with rarity ratings is provided. Much attention is paid to forgeries; a set of transparent overlay sheets is provided to assist in authentication.
